On Saturday 19th March, POPIN Craft Tea Party finally took place! The weather was good (a part from a little shower), people turned up, cakes and biscuits were delicious and everyone seemed happy to just sit and chat and make. In the busy Singapore life, our little patch of artificial grass and colourful patchwork rug was a creative and happy haven. It really was a fun event. Hopefully we will be organising a similar event again very soon! Keep checking our blogsite for future POPIN events and projects.
Mandy silkscreened the POPIN logo. We're making them into little flags to give to the bikers (Dorothy's friends) so that they can attach them onto their bikes when coming to the event on Saturday. I made mine into a bag. I've had a lot of people commenting about it. Good advertisement!
We are getting a lot of people enquiring about POPIN and the Craft Tea Party event. Hope a lot of people will come. More the merrier! And this is the flyer for the Craft Tea Party.
This is our last Sunday session before the actual event day! It's all coming together which is really nice to see.
The POPIN flag!
Some craft materials which will be used on Saturday.
All working hard to finish off the POPIN flag.
AND Betty taking a well deserved rest!
The POPIN flags are taking shape and they are really looking great.
And here we are again, another Sunday, stitching away...
We have been really busy the last couple of weeks, sorting out catering details and purchasing craft materials. Things are taking shape and although sometimes nail biting, it's been pretty good so far. We will have lovely cake from Montreux Cafe (thanks to Jarick) and biscuits from Turning Point. Obviously POPIN members will be showing off their baking skills too! All good stuff. Hope everyone who come to the event will think so too.
POPIN MET AGAIN LAST SUNDAY IN THE GREEN GRASS. THIS TIME POPIN MADE COLOURED FLAGS OUT OF FABRIC, FOR THE DECORATIONS AROUND THE GREEN GRASS AREA WHERE PEOPLE WILL SIT DOWN TO ENJOY CRAFT-MAKING, TEA AND BISCUITS DURING CRAFT TEA PARTY EVENT ON 19 MARCH. THE FLAGS ARE LOOKING FANTASTIC! THERE ARE SOME MORE TO BE DONE, DO JOIN US NEXT WEEK FROM 1 PM ONWARDS. IT IS ALWAYS SO NICE TO SEE HOW WE MANAGE TO GATHER TOGETHER AND CREATE, DESPITE OUR OWN BUSY SCHEDULE...
Look, everyone gets so focused stitching the flags together... :)
BELIEVE IN THE HANDMADE
LONG LIVE CRAFT!
