Today we submitted the grant application form to the National Art Council for CRAFT-ASSEMBLY. We should hear in about 2 months time whether our application has been successful or not. Although we are trying to keep the cost as low as possible, it will be so helpful to get some funding. We could really use the money to promote the event and to make the venue look festive and fun. Fingers crossed everyone!
Today, two members of POPIN (Mandy and Betty) will be going to Sikkim, India, for a community project. They are going as part of a team called 'Team Vidyalay', who are going to live for 2 weeks in a Borong Polok Village and interact with the community there. In particular, Mandy and Betty will be helping the Paper Making Unit to gather ideas on the making of their paper products. It will be a great experience for them, especially being able to see and be involved in the production of those hand-made Argali papers!!
Last week on Saturday, 27 November, POPIN members met again! Oh so many things to discuss: NAC grant application, planning for the tea party, collection of fabrics from artists, workshops in August, la la la! But it was certainly lovely to see everyone :) We have I think around 40 people joining the event to create 1mx1m fabric...Great!
Oh yes remember, when we put other people's website under our links, we must get permission from them first! If anyone of you would like to contribute links related to craft, please drop us an email! :) Happy Crafting!
